During these cold winter months, who wants to leave their house for food? You’d have to bundle up, warm up the car, clean it off, then drive in the snow just to get a nice, hot meal. Or you can get some fresh, hot soup delivered to you at no extra cost! What a great way to bundle inside with a blanket while watching TV. The Ladle Lady offers just that – a soup restaurant without the restaurant. They deliver to the Eastside, Riverwest, Northshore, Wauwatosa, downtown and Bayview areas. The owner, Maryann, gave us some more information about her unique food service!

Tell me about Ladle Lady.

The Ladle Lady is a boutique soup delivery restaurant with healthy and delicious soups by the quart delivered right to your door. Located in the heart of Riverwest, The Ladle Ladle offers a weekly rotating menu of inspired soups that are sure to please every palate. In addition to years of cooking experience, I also have a background in the fitness industry. With that being said, every one of my flavorful soups are thoughtfully created and implemented with your health and well being in the forefront. This isn’t canned nonsense, it is premier, delicious soup you will want over and over again. And bread, because everyone likes bread with soup. In addition to soup, The Ladle Lady offers full service catering menus with unique and delicious options to choose from. Whether its a corporate event, an elegant affair, or casual get together, leave it to The Ladle Lady to meet you every step of the way on your special day.

What range of goods do you sell?

I offer soups by the quart that are freshly made using fresh, locally purveyed ingredients.  The quarts are available 7 days a week with bread and butter AND free delivery. Each weekly soup menu features a vegan option, vegetarian, and something for the carnivores too. Year round, we do catering for any event and have some of the prettiest charcuterie and cheese boards on the planet.

What are you bringing to Veg Out Fest?

I will be bringing my most popular signatures. Sweet Potato Curry: This creamy delight will knock your socks off when you find out its dairy free. Made with roasted sweet potatoes, roasted apples, shallots, and carrots. Slight heat with a sweet finish. Japanese Detox: Full of anti-inflammatories such as turmeric, ginger and garlic, this spicy and satisfying favorite is for vegans and flavor lovers, plus its the end all cure all. It contains sweet potatoes, carrots, onions, bok choy and Japanese 7 spice. Tomato Tortellini: A creamy and robust tomato bisque with spinach, and 4 cheese tortellini.

Next time you are looking for a pick me up on a dreary day, look to The Ladle Lady. Go for the most popular soup – the flu killer Japanese Detox. Maryann says once you try it, you’ll be hooked! Comb through the weekly menu, as new soups are created all the time inspired by PBS shows, a mini road trip, finding a new recipe or on a whim. Maryann enjoys seeing customers excited to try out new recipes. Order up, and don’t forget to stop by her booth at Veg Out Fest. Veg Out will be held on March 21st from 11am-2pm at The American Serb Hall.
